Blade Runner 2049 - Soundtrack Rescore
Sound in Music is a collection of three different forms of composition, exploring very different themes and practices of production.
The first, titled Ambient 3, utilises a numerical algorithm inspired by chaos theory to determine what changes happen to the music and instrumentation at set intervals, the musical composition and instrumentation being inspired by the works of Brian Eno.
The second, titled Pricking Thumbs (Something Wicked), is a stimulus-composed piece using the image attached from the 2021 film The Tragedy of Macbeth, directed by Joel Coen. With no prior knowledge of the screenshot's context or the film itself, the piece was composed purely from its visual alone using a selection of Foley recordings and virtual instruments.
The third piece is a creative rescoring of a selected section of the film Blade Runner 2049, with no prior knowledge of the original soundtrack, working purely off of the film's visuals and sound effects, with the music being composed to the footage.
