CANTO III (2026)

Sound Design - Audio Engineering - Sound and Sonic Installation Art

CANTO III is an audio art installation based around a specific section of Inferno, part of Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy.

Listeners are transported into the space described and written about, delivered through sound.

Moving beyond traditional notes and melodies, CANTO III instead focuses on the use of field recordings, sonic texturing, ambient noise, and algorithmic sound, as well as the spatialisation of these sounds.

The work does not directly illustrate the text as one may expect but instead translates it into sound, using a constrained generative system in which predetermined numerical and categorical relationships produce unpredictable sonic encounters.
